Moving out of a rental property can be overwhelming, but understanding what’s expected can make the process far less stressful. If you're renting through Bauer Property Management, a smooth transition is entirely possible with a little preparation and attention to detail. Whether you’re relocating across town or moving out of state, knowing the steps involved in ending your lease properly can help you transition smoothly.
1. Complete the move-out form, providing us with your forwarding address:
This form aids us when returning security deposits. It can be found on our website, www.bpmhousing.com, under the tab labeled “tenant.”
2. Schedule a Move-Out Inspection:
Schedule a move-out inspection a few weeks before your lease ends.
By contacting our office and setting an appointment for us to walk through the apartment, it allows us to review any areas that have been damaged and need to be cleaned as per the move-out inspection sheet
You will receive a Move-Out inspection sheet for a detailed list of items we expect to be cleaned before you vacate the property
Scheduling hours for the inspection are Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
3. Keep all utilities on until the end of your lease
4. Return all keys to the main office when you are finished moving out
5. Return your parking pass (if applicable)
Moving out doesn’t have to be a hassle. By staying organized and following Bauer Property Management's guidelines, you’ll leave your rental on good terms and set yourself up for a smooth move into your next home.
